I will be unavailable for contact for probably the next 40hrs. I am sitting on the runway right now, just about to fly from Sydney, Australia to Frankfurt, Germany. I’ll be based out of Hamburg for the Summer.

Apple has dobe a stellar job, and accepted the v3.0.1 fix in record time! It should be available on the Mac App Store within the hour.

This should fix the disappearing Silverlight window bug found in v3.0.

Sorry for all the headaches this has caused to all Cookie users over the past 48 Hours, Lets try and get this all behind us and move ahead with the v3+ series.

here is the list of improvements/fixes included in v3.0.1:

!!!updated Cookies/Database databases. please recheck any favourites you have!!! especially the ‘Databases’ tab!
Database favourites will not be migrated to the new format.
Rewrote the Cookies/Databases database (any exported favorites will need to be re-exported)

There is a critical bug in v3.0 MAS version.

heres the fix:

Quit cookie
double click to unzip,
then run Cookiev3.0fix.app to fix Cookie.

I ve pulled v3 from the mas, and requested an expedited review….
Hopefully Apple will get this back online soon.

All the fix does, is remove a corrupted preference, it doesn’t alter the binary at all. So there are no side effects to running the fix.

personally, it doesn’t look all that exciting to me….
I see this as more of an evolutionary update, than a revolutionary one. Kinda like the iPhone 4s when compared to the iPhone 4. More pixels, better camera….

I like my MacBook Air, and unless Apple ever manages to port Xcode to iPad, I don’t think i’ll ever have the need to own one of them.

Ive actually only just brought myself an iPhone 4s, about 3 months ago. To be honest though, it’s probably the best purchase i made all last year, with the exception of my 11″ Air for Dev work.

★★★My apologies, there is an issue in v2.2.4 (English Mac App Store version) that can cause a hang if you have the option to “Remove all Data Every x minutes Browser is Open” checked…. just uncheck this option for now, and a fix has been uploaded for an expedited review, and is on its way. Once again, I apologise for any inconveniences this may have caused★★★

to fix the CPU issue, just disable the “Remove allUnwanted Data every x mins Browser is open” option.
There are however also other issues with automated removal.

If you are able to, I would recommend restoring to v2.2.3 from Time Machine. Otherwise, the update should be available soon.

Cookie 2.2.4

Cookie 2.2.4 has just gone live on the Mac App Store, and also on my servers.
All users should update, as this fixes a potential crash related tho flash cookies. Also included is a much requested option to change the menuIcon back to its original ‘cookie’ icon.
